Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Gusau has appointed Dominic Iorfa, the vice chairman and CEO of Lobi Stars Football Club, as a member of the newly constituted board of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The other members of the board are Gbenga Elegbeleye (chairman), Mallam Muhammed Nasiru Sa’idu, Daniel Amokachi, Barr. Poubeni Ogun, Dr Okey Kpalukwu, and Mallam Suleiman Umar. Barr. Danlamin Ibrahim will serve as secretary/legal adviser, while Prince Davidson Owumi is the operating officer.
The board is to serve a two-year tenure.
In his speech, Gusau charged the newly constituted board members to live above board to reposition the elite league. He assured them of his total support and reiterated his trust in the new board in working harmoniously for the transformation of the league that would attract investors.
Lobi Stars Management, Staff and Players have congratulated their boss, Mr. Iorfa, on his new assignment praying to Almighty God to grant him wisdom to succeed.
Iorfa is a former Nigeria international footballer who has played for several clubs in Europe and played for the Domestic league and the National Team. He is also a trained coach and Seasoned Football Administrator who contested for the position of the president of the NFF and came 2nd behind the incumbent president.
He is a passionate Football and youths developer with special attribute of “man of the people”.
Iorfa’s appointment to the NPFL board is seen as a major boost for the league, as he brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game. He is expected to play a key role in the transformation of the league and help to make it more competitive and attractive to investors.
