Abraham Marcus, a young Nigerian forward, is being wanted by several top-flight Portuguese clubs, soccerhub.ng can confirm.
The 20-year-old was reportedly close to a loan move to Moreirense, but the deal is now on hold. Marcus will remain an FC Porto player for now, as the club’s exit market is still being sorted out.
Marcus joined FC Porto on a permanent basis in July, after the club activated the purchase option in his loan agreement with Remo Stars. He was called up by Sérgio Conceição for the start of the pre-season, but was eventually returned to the B team.
Despite his young age, Marcus has already made a name for himself in Portugal. He scored 10 goals in 26 appearances for the B team last season, and he has also been capped by Nigeria at the U20 level.
His performances have attracted the attention of several top-flight clubs, including Moreirense, Braga, and Sporting CP. It remains to be seen where Marcus will end up playing this season, but he is sure to be a hot property in the Portuguese transfer market.
