The sportswear giant said in a statement that it has “had no discussions with Manchester United regarding any member of their playing squad.”

The statement comes amid speculation that Greenwood could be in line for a return to the United squad after all charges against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February.

Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of rape, assault, and threats to kill. He was released on bail pending further investigation, but the charges were dropped in February.

United suspended Greenwood from the first team following his arrest, and he has not played for the club since.

In its statement, Adidas said that it “plays no role in any decisions made regarding any member of the team or staff at the club.” Via goal.com

The statement added: “We are aware of the speculation in the media, but it is important to us to clarify that these reports are inaccurate.”
