Akwa United coach Deji Ayeni aims to lead his team back to the continental stage after securing a 3-0 win against Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Despite starting the season with a 2-0 loss to Bendel Insurance, the team has now risen to third place on the league table.
According to Ayeni, the league has reached a level of competitiveness where teams can achieve success if they are well-prepared both physically and mentally.
The coach cited the goal set by the team’s management to return to the continent as a motivator for the team.
