Fenerbahçe SK have made enquiries for Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng, but Al Ahly have immediately rejected the approach.
Dieng, 25, is a key player for Al Ahly, having joined the club from MC Algiers in 2019. He has made over 70 appearances for the Egyptian giants, scoring 3 goals.
The midfielder is also a regular for the Mali national team, having made over 10 appearances.
Fenerbahçe are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season, and Dieng is seen as a potential target. However, Al Ahly are determined to keep the player, and have made it clear that he is not for sale.
A source close to the club said: “Dieng is not for sale and we will keep him. We have a lot of competitions coming up and he will be very key for us.”
Fenerbahçe are likely to continue their pursuit of Dieng, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to convince Al Ahly to sell.
