Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala has been nominated for the 2023 Women’s Ballon d’Or, making her the sole African player on the list.

Oshoala is a four-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year and has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Barcelona on three occasions.
