The chairman of Bayelsa Queens football club, Pastor Robin Angonimi Aprella, has returned to the state from Australia, where he attended the FIFA Women’s Convention 2023.
Pastor Aprella said he was in Australia to learn more about how to run a successful female football club. He said he was impressed with the level of organization and development of women’s football in Australia, and he is committed to bringing those same standards to Bayelsa Queens.
“I have come back with a lot of ideas and strategies on how to improve our team,” Pastor Aprella said. “We are going to work hard to make Bayelsa Queens one of the best female football clubs in Nigeria.”
Pastor Aprella also thanked Governor Douye Diri, his deputy Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development Chief Baraladei Daniel Igali, for their support in making his trip to Australia possible.
“I am grateful to the governor, his deputy, and the commissioner for their belief in me and for giving me this opportunity to learn and grow,” Pastor Aprella said. “I am confident that with their support, Bayelsa Queens will achieve great things in the future.”
The FIFA Women’s Convention is an annual event that brings together leaders from the world of women’s football to discuss the latest trends and developments in the sport. The convention also provides a forum for networking and exchanging ideas.
