Bayern Munich and Visit Rwanda today announced a five-year partnership that will see the two organizations work together to promote football and tourism.
The partnership includes the following key elements:
- The establishment of a football academy in Rwanda, which will be operated by Bayern Munich and will provide training and development opportunities for young Rwandan footballers.
- The participation of Rwandan teams in FC Bayern’s Youth Cup tournaments.
- The exchange of ideas and best practices in football management between Bayern Munich and the Rwandan Ministry of Sports.
- The promotion of Rwanda as a tourist destination through joint marketing and promotional activities.
“We are delighted to partner with Visit Rwanda,” said Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. “This partnership is a natural fit for both organizations, as we are both committed to promoting football and tourism. We believe that this partnership will have a positive impact on the development of football in Rwanda and will help to raise the profile of the country as a tourist destination.”
“This partnership is a major milestone for Rwanda’s tourism industry,” said Clare Akamanzi, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board. “It will help to raise the profile of Rwanda as a football destination and will attract more visitors to the country. We are grateful to Bayern Munich for their commitment to this partnership and we look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals.”
The partnership between Bayern Munich and Visit Rwanda is the latest in a series of deals that the Rwandan government has signed with major sporting organizations. In recent years, Rwanda has also partnered with Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and the NBA.
These partnerships are part of Rwanda’s broader strategy to promote tourism and economic development. The country is known for its beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife, and rich culture. It is also a safe and welcoming destination for tourists.
The partnership between Bayern Munich and Visit Rwanda is a significant step forward for Rwanda’s tourism industry. It is expected to boost tourism arrivals and revenue, and to create jobs and opportunities for Rwandans.
