The 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League, Africa’s premier women’s club competition, kicks off on Sunday, November 5, in the Ivorian cities of Korhogo and San Pedro. Eight teams from across the continent will compete for the coveted title, including defending champions ASFAR FC of Morocco and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa.

The opening match will see host club Athletico FC Abidjan take on Sporting Club Casablanca of Morocco at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo. Both clubs are making their debut appearance in the competition, and the match is sure to be a closely contested affair.

In the second match of the day, JKT Queens of Tanzania will face off against Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies at the same venue. Sundowns are one of the favorites to win the tournament, having won the previous two editions. However, JKT Queens are a talented team and will be looking to make an impact in their first appearance in the competition.

The following day, November 6, will see two more exciting matches. In the first match, ASFAR FC will take on Ampem Darkoa of Ghana at the Stade Laurent Pokou in San Pedro. ASFAR FC are the defending champions and will be looking to start their title defense on a strong note. Ampem Darkoa are a rising force in African women’s football and will be eager to upset the champions.

In the second match of the day, Huracanes of Equatorial Guinea will face off against AS Mande of Mali. Huracanes are making their debut appearance in the competition, while AS Mande are returning for the first time since 2021. Both teams will be looking to make their mark in the tournament.

The group stage of the competition will run from November 5 to 11, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be played on November 15, with the final scheduled for November 19.

The 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League is shaping up to be one of the most exciting competitions in recent history. With eight top teams from across the continent competing for the title, fans are sure to be treated to some thrilling matches.
