In a tragic turn of events, it has been confirmed that Ghanaian international footballer Christian Atsu has passed away.

The 30-year-old, who played for Turkish club Hatayspor, was rescued from the rubble of a devastating earthquake that hit Turkey last month, which claimed the lives of over 20,000 people.

Atsu’s agent, Nana Sechere, confirmed the news of his death to the media on Friday night.

The news of Atsu’s death has sent shockwaves throughout the football world, with fans and fellow players expressing their condolences on social media. Many have described Atsu as a talented and dedicated player who will be greatly missed.

Atsu began his professional football career in Ghana before moving to Europe to play for FC Porto in Portugal. He then had stints with several other clubs, including Everton, Bournemouth, and Newcastle United, before joining Hatayspor in 2022.
