Zinchenko missed Arsenal’s opening Premier League game of the season against Nottingham Forest due to a knee injury sustained in pre-season. However, Arteta said that the Ukrainian international has been training with the squad and is making good progress.

“Alex is doing really well,” Arteta said in an interview with Football Daily. “He’s been training with us, and hopefully we’re going to have him available very soon.”

Zinchenko’s return would be a major boost for Arsenal, as he is a versatile player who can play in both midfield and defense. He is also a good crosser of the ball, which could help the Gunners create more chances in the final third.

In addition to Zinchenko, Arteta also said that Gabriel Jesus is still not available for selection due to a knee injury. However, the Brazilian striker is expected to be back in training next week.

“Gabby is still not available and not fit, but the rest are all good,” Arteta said.

Arsenal’s next Premier League game is against Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Gunners will be looking to build on their opening day win when they take on the Eagles at Selhurst Park.
