Everton fans are calling for the departure of Alex Iwobi after he picked up an injury in the club’s 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Nigeria international was forced off in the 55th minute after a challenge from Villa defender Tyrone Mings. Iwobi was seen clutching his hamstring as he walked off the pitch.
Iwobi’s injury is a major blow for Everton, who are already in a relegation problem just as early as the second match week.
The fans’ frustration with Iwobi has been building for some time. The 26-year-old has been inconsistent since joining Everton from Arsenal in 2019. He has scored just five goals in 63 appearances for the club.
Some fans believe that Iwobi is not good enough for Everton, and they want him sold in the January transfer window.
Whatever the case may be, Iwobi’s injury has only added to Everton’s problems. The relegation threat is rising.
