The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2023/2024 season will kick off on August 26, 2023, according to the NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye.

Exclusive: NPFL 2023/2024 Season to Kick Off on August 26 2

The Chairman made the announcement on Tuesday, July 26, 2023, at a press conference in Abuja. He said that the league will run for 38 weeks, with each team playing 36 matches.

The prize money for the winner of the league has been increased to N150 million, while the runner-up will receive N75 million. The third-place team will receive N50 million, and the fourth-place team will receive N30 million.

The Chairman also said that the league will be broadcast live on television and online. He said that this will help to increase the visibility of the league and attract more fans.

The 2023/2024 NPFL season will see the return of three teams that were relegated last season with debutant: Heartland, Sporting Lagos, Kano Pillars, and Katsina United.

The Chairman said that he is confident that the 2023/2024 NPFL season will be a success. He said that the league is working hard to improve the standard of football in Nigeria.

The 2023/2024 NPFL season is shaping up to be an exciting one. With the increased prize money and the return of four relegated teams, there is sure to be plenty of competition for the title.
