Fulham are set to sign one of Calvin Bassey or Mohammed Salisu as they look to bolster their defense ahead of the 2023-24 Premier League season.
The Cottagers have been in talks with both players for some time, but it is understood that they have now decided to go for just one of them.
Negotiations with Bassey are said to be very advanced, and the club is now hoping to complete a medical for the 22-year-old this week.
Salisu is also a target for Fulham, but they face competition from AS Monaco for the Southampton defender.
Bassey is a left-footed center-back who can also play as a left-back. He is strong in the air and good at carrying the ball out of defense.
Salisu is also a left-footed center-back who is known for his aerial ability and his tackling.
It is not yet clear which player Fulham will sign, but the addition of either one would be a significant boost to their defense.
