Malo Gusto, also known by his family name, is a well-known athlete from Décines-Charpieu, France.

He was born on May 19th, 2003 in the populous and beautiful city of Décines-Charpieu. After finishing his education, he began his career as an athlete, and plays for Lyon.

Malo Gusto began his career playing for the ASVF, before joining Bourgoin-Jallieu for a one-year stint. He then moved to the Olympique Lyonnais academy as an under-14, following in the footsteps of his elder academy colleague Amine Gouiri.

Gusto arrived in Lyon at the same time the club moved to the Stade des Lumières, in his hometown. He was part of the same generation as Florent da Silva, Yaya Soumaré and Rayan Cherki, and signed his first professional contract with the club in December 2021.

He had already made appearances for the Ligue 1 team under Rudi Garcia’s management, and had impressed in the Youth League and National 2 with the reserve team. Gusto made his professional debut for Olympique Lyonnais on January 24, 2021, replacing Bruno Guimarães in a 5-0 Ligue 1 away win against Saint-Étienne.

He signed a new contract with Lyon in June, keeping him at the club until 2024. During the summer 2021 pre-season, Gusto emerged as one of Lyon’s most promising prospects under new coach Peter Bosz, and was named man of the match in a friendly win against Wolfsburg.

He began the 2021-2022 season as the replacement for Léo Dubois, and became the youngest defender to start a Ligue 1 game for OL since Samuel Umtiti. Despite being behind Dubois in the hierarchy, Gusto still performed well under Bosz’s direction, starting games such as a 2-0 Europa League win against Rangers and a 2-1 Ligue 1 loss against Paris Saint-Germain.

The young player networth is set to be around $2m, and the youngster could see stock rise.
