The Mozambican players and technical team have received 32-inch LED TVs each as a prize for qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.
The TVs were presented by Synix, an electronics marketing and manufacturing company operating in Mozambique. The company said it was proud to support the national team and wished them all the best in the AFCON tournament.
The Mozambican team qualified for the AFCON tournament after finishing second in Group L of the qualifiers. They will be making their first appearance in the tournament since 2010.
The team’s coach, Chiquinho Conde, said he was delighted with the TVs and thanked Synix for their support. He said the TVs would be a great morale boost for the team ahead of the AFCON tournament.
The AFCON tournament will be held from January to February 2024. It will be the 34th edition of the tournament and the first to be held in Ivory Coast since 1984.
The tournament will feature 24 teams, including the hosts. The other teams will be determined by the qualifiers, which are currently underway.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. The final of the AFCON tournament will be played on February 11, 2024.
