The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has taken a significant step toward enhancing the development of grassroots football with the commencement of a new project at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium (MKO Stadium) in Abuja.
On Monday, the NFF began the construction of a hostel designed to accommodate players during camping periods, alongside a standard football pitch. This project aims to provide a dedicated space for the national U15, U17, and U20 boys and girls teams to train and develop their skills in a professional environment.
The facilities, which will be situated within the MKO Stadium complex, are expected to greatly enhance the quality of preparation for Nigeria’s youth teams. By providing modern amenities and a world-class training pitch, the NFF is ensuring that young talents have access to the resources needed to excel at both continental and global competitions.
The completion date for the project has not yet been disclosed, but the NFF has assured stakeholders of its commitment to delivering the facilities as soon as possible. Once ready, these facilities are expected to play a crucial role in fostering the growth of Nigerian football at the grassroots level.
This development underscores the NFF’s long-term vision of nurturing young talents and providing a strong foundation for the future of football in the country. With these efforts, the federation aims to sustain Nigeria’s legacy as a powerhouse in African and global football.
