Paris Saint-Germain Feminines have announced the signing of Nicole Payne on a three-year deal

. The 22-year-old defender joins the French club after completing her collegiate career in the United States.

Payne was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and began playing football at a young age. She played for Concorde Fire, an Atlanta-based club, before joining the University of West Virginia in 2019. She spent three seasons with the Mountaineers, making 53 appearances and scoring four goals.

In 2022, Payne transferred to the University of Southern California, where she continued her studies in psychology. She played in all 16 games for the Trojans, scoring three goals.

Payne is a dual citizen of the United States and Nigeria. She represented the United States at the U15, U16, U17, and U18 levels before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2021. She has two caps for the Super Falcons.

Payne is a versatile defender who can play on either side of the back line. She is known for her athleticism and her ability to get forward. She will be a valuable addition to the PSG squad as they look to compete for trophies in the upcoming season.
