GTI Asset Management & Trust Limited, a strategic partner to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), is reportedly close to announcing a title sponsor for the league.

A broker who was in a meeting with GTI last week told The Guardian that the asset management body is about finalizing details with a firm for the title sponsorship of the league.

“From all indications, GTI will announce the new title sponsor for the league and some new partnerships next week,” the source said, adding that the league has started attracting interest from within and outside Nigeria.

The NPFL has been without a title sponsor since Globacom withdrew its sponsorship in 2017. The league’s current season, which is the 2022/2023 season, is being sponsored by Bet9ja, but the deal seems to be shady.

The potential title sponsorship by GTI would be a major boost for the NPFL, which has been struggling to attract sponsorship in recent years. The league has been plagued by financial problems, which have led to a decline in the quality of play.

A title sponsorship from GTI would provide the NPFL with much-needed financial stability and help to improve the quality of the league. It would also help to raise the profile of the league and attract more fans and investors.

GTI is a leading asset management and trust company in Nigeria. The company has a strong track record of success and is well-positioned to help the NPFL grow and prosper.

The announcement of a title sponsor for the NPFL would be a major positive development for the league and for Nigerian football. It would be a sign that the league is on the right track and that it is attracting the attention of major sponsors.
