The draw for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season was concluded in Abuja on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
The matches for Matchday 1 are as follows:
- Sporting Lagos vs Gombe United
- Bayelsa United vs Akwa United
- Shooting Stars vs Plateau United
- Abia Warriors vs Niger Tornadoes
- Enyimba Int’l vs Bendel Insurance
- Rivers United vs Remo Stars
- Katsina United vs Kwara United
- Sunshine Stars vs Kano Pillars
- Heartland FC vs Lobi Stars
- Rangers United vs Doma United
The new season will kick-off on September 9, 2023.
Akwa United, will begin their campaign against Bayelsa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Other top teams in action on Matchday 1 include Enyimba, Rivers United, and Plateau United.
Enyimba will host Bendel Insurance at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, while Rivers United will welcome Remo Stars.
Plateau United will take on Shooting Stars at the Akure Township stadium.
The NPFL 2023/2024 season is expected to be a closely contested affair, with several teams vying for the title.
