Fulham have agreed a deal to sign Raúl Jiménez from Wolves for a fee of £5.5m.
The Mexico international will have his medical on Monday and is expected to be announced as a Fulham player shortly thereafter.
Jiménez has been at Wolves since 2018, scoring 57 goals in 166 appearances. He was a key part of the team that won promotion to the Premier League in 2018-19 and helped them finish seventh in the league last season.
However, Jiménez’s career was nearly cut short in November 2020 when he suffered a fractured skull in a collision with David Luiz. He underwent surgery and missed nine months of action.
Jiménez has since returned to full fitness and has scored four goals in four pre-season appearances for Wolves. However, he has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks, with Fulham emerging as the frontrunners for his signature.
The Cottagers are looking to add some firepower to their attack ahead of their return to the Premier League and Jiménez would be a significant signing. He is a proven goalscorer in the English top flight and his experience would be invaluable to a young Fulham side.
The deal is still subject to personal terms being agreed and a medical, but it is expected to be completed in the coming days.
