The 68-year-old, who is the brother of former Chelsea and Netherlands coach Guus Hiddink, has a wealth of experience in African football, having previously worked in Rwanda, Madagascar, and the Maldives.

Hiddink is tasked with overseeing the club’s technical operations, including the development of the youth academy and the first team. He will also be responsible for implementing the club’s new playing philosophy.

Hearts of Oak are one of the most successful clubs in Ghana, having won the Ghana Premier League 20 times. They are also the only Ghanaian club to have won the CAF Champions League, which they did in 2000.

The club are hoping that Hiddink’s appointment will help them to regain their former glory. They finished twelve-th in the Ghana Premier League last season, and they will be looking to challenge for the title in the upcoming season.

Hiddink’s appointment is a major coup for Hearts of Oak, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in his new role. He has a big challenge ahead of him, but he has the experience and the pedigree to succeed.
