Shakhtar Donetsk is a professional football club based in Donetsk, Ukraine.
The club was founded in 1936 and currently competes in the Ukrainian Premier League, the top tier of Ukrainian football.
Shakhtar has a long and successful history in Ukrainian football, having won the Ukrainian Premier League title 11 times and the Ukrainian Cup 10 times. The club has also been successful in European competitions, having reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2010-2011 and the Round of 16 in 2017-2018.
One of the most successful periods in the club’s history came under the management of Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu, who led the team to eight Ukrainian Premier League titles between 2004 and 2016. Lucescu also guided Shakhtar to the UEFA Cup (now the Europa League) final in 2009, where they lost to Werder Bremen.
Shakhtar’s home ground is the Metalist Stadium, which has a capacity of 50,000. The club also has a strong youth academy and has produced a number of notable players, including Brazilian internationals Willian and Fernandinho, as well as Ukrainian internationals Andriy Pyatov and Taras Stepanenko.
Despite the ongoing political situation in Ukraine, Shakhtar Donetsk has managed to maintain its competitiveness in domestic and European competitions. It has been able to attract and retain top talent from around the world, thanks in part to the club’s strong financial resources.

Mykhailo Mudryk Chelsea and Arsenal transfer war
Many Arsenal fans have destined have Mudryk as one of their latest signings in the January of 2023, Shakhtar valued him around €100m, based on what Manchester United payed to get Anthony, Shakhtar believe Mudryk is a much better than Anthony, and anyone who want the player should pay around that amount.
Arsenal have no intention to meet Shakhtar valuation but they were close not until when Chelsea meet with Shakhtar and meet their valuation including add-ons.
