Former Barcelona player Dani Alves is facing reports of a suicide attempt while serving his four-and-a-half-year prison sentence.
Alves was accused of raping a 23-year-old woman in a Barcelona nightclub.
He was found guilty and sentenced to prison time, along with being ordered to pay €150,000 in compensation to the victim.
These suicide attempt rumors stem from claims made by Brazilian journalist Paulo Albuquerque.
However, representatives of Daniel Alves, the former Brazilian national team defender, have denied these rumors after speaking with his lawyer.
As of now, prison officials have not commented on the situation.
