Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan put up a superb second half performance to hammer Niger Tornadoes of Minna 4-1 in a Matchday seven encounter of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) decided at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday.
The Oluyole Warriors, who were responding to last Wednesday’s loss to Remo Stars, took the lead in the 17th minute through Ayobami Adekunle, who finished up a Joshua Akpan’s pass.
However, the Ikon Allah Boys got the equaliser through Earnest Chidebere with ten minutes left to end the first half, to send the teams into the locker room on level terms.
But like in previous games, the Shooting Stars produced yet another second half magic to turn the game around.
A minute into resumption of the game, central defender, Ayodeji Bamidele scored through a well struck free kick, with a fine set up by his defensive partner, Gbolagade Adelowo to put the Stars back in front.
Adelowo will then go on to grab his second goal of the season, scoring off Joshua Akpan’s corner kick in the 64th minute to increase the tally.
Kareem Ademola Ayinde, once again, came off the bench to score, lashing onto a rebound after goalkeeper Enaholo spilled Malomo Taofeek’s shot, to complete the routing of the Niger Tornadoes.
Shooting Stars will next Sunday, face Kwara United in Ilorin, in a Matchday eight fixture.
