Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Simba SC have been drawn to face the winner of the African Stars/Power Dynamos tie in the second round of the CAF Champions League.

The first leg will be played in Dar es Salaam, with the second leg taking place in the week commencing.

Simba SC are the defending champions of the CAF Confederation Cup, and they will be looking to make it to the group stage of the Champions League for the first time since 2018. African Stars are from Namibia, while Power Dynamos are from Zambia.

The winner of the Simba SC/African Stars/Power Dynamos tie will be drawn into Group A of the Champions League, alongside Al Ahly, Al Hilal, and ES Tunis.

The second round of the Champions League will be played over two legs, with the first leg taking place on February 18, 2023, and the second leg taking place on February 25.

The draw for the group stage of the Champions League will take place on March 22, 2023.

Simba SC Head Coach Pablo Franco Optimistic About Chances

Simba SC head coach Pablo Franco is optimistic about his team’s chances of reaching the group stage of the Champions League.

“We are a good team, and we have the quality to beat any team in Africa,” Franco said. “We are confident that we can get the job done against African Stars or Power Dynamos.”

Franco added that his team is well-prepared for the second round of the Champions League.

“We have been training hard, and we are ready for the challenge,” Franco said. “We know that it will be a difficult tie, but we are confident that we can win.”

Simba SC will be hoping to make it to the group stage of the Champions League for the first time since 2018. The group stage of the Champions League is the most lucrative stage of the competition, and it would be a major boost for Simba SC’s finances.

The group stage of the Champions League will be played from April to May 2023. The final of the Champions League will be played on May 29, 2023, in Morocco.
