Super Eagles: Invitations Sent to 23+ Players, Including New Striker

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sent out invitations and flight tickets to over 23 players for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against São Tomé and Príncipe. Soccerhub can confirm.

The camp will open in Uyo on September 4, 2023, and the game will be played on September 10, 2023.

The NFF Technical Department, headed by Austin Eguavoen, has invited a few new players, including a new striker. The identity of the new striker has not been revealed yet.

Some of the players who have been invited include:

  • Victor Osimhen (Napoli)
  • Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City)
  • Odion Ighalo (Al Hilal)
  • Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City)
  • Joe Aribo ()
  • Calvin Bassey (Fulham)
  • Frank Onyeka (Brentford)
  • Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest)
  • Chidozie Awaziem (Getafe)
  • Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)

The NFF has not released an official statement on the invitations, but it is expected that the full list of players will be announced soon.

Fans are excited to see the new players in action and are looking forward to the upcoming qualifier.

The Super Eagles have qualify for the AFCON, and the upcoming qualifier against São Tomé and Príncipe will be a good test for the team.
