Watford manager Valerian Ismael has revealed that Samuel Kalu is not in his plans for the upcoming season.
The Nigerian winger joined the Hornets from Bordeaux in January 2022, but he struggled to make an impact in the Premier League. He made only 12 appearances in the top flight, scoring one goal.
Ismael has said that Kalu is not part of his squad for the Championship campaign, and he is free to leave the club if he finds a suitable offer. “Samuel is not in my plans,” Ismael said. “He is a good player, but he is not in my plans. He is free to leave if he wants.”
Kalu’s agent, David Okolo, has confirmed that the player is looking for a new club. “We are in talks with several clubs,” Okolo said. “We are hoping to find a club where Samuel can play regularly.”
Kalu is a talented player with a lot of potential. He is a quick and skilful winger who can create chances and score goals. However, he has struggled to find consistency at Watford. If he can find a club where he is given a regular starting spot, he could be a valuable asset.
It remains to be seen where Kalu will end up. However, it is clear that he is no longer part of Watford’s plans. The club will be looking to sell him in the near future.
